Day of
Day of Arts

Introduction

Since 2024, the New Acropolis School of Philosophy has joined UNESCO’s World Art Day initiative. This day is usually celebrated on April 15, but due to the proximity of Mother Earth Day, we have preferred to commemorate it on another occasion.

The Day of Arts is a celebration of the arts as a universal language of expression, transcending borders and bringing people together. As our guiding theme of “Unity through Diversity” suggests, we invite you to explore the creativity that flourishes when diverse perspectives unite, promoting a culture of peace.

Participate in exhibitions, performances and workshops that demonstrate the transformative power of the arts to foster connections and understanding among diverse communities. Let’s celebrate the beauty of our differences and the arts that unite us.

Our vision of Cultur and the Arts

Culture has a fundamental role in elevating us individually and collectively, whether through science that reveals beauty in its discoveries, politics when it contributes to forging more harmonious societies, religions that inspire a kinder world or arts that express the best within the human being. Now it is more important than ever to try to transcend our differences and to overcome the increasing isolation and loneliness at all levels that is affecting mental health worldwide. For this reason, we promote cultural and artistic activities in every country that uplift the human condition.

Culture and the arts play a fundamental role in the development of individuals and societies, as they are essential to what makes us human, grounding our values, decisions and relationships with others and with nature.

Culture and the arts encourage imagination, creativity, self-expression and exploration. They promote the intercultural dialogue and understanding needed to address the world’s challenges and support transformation processes in a sustainable way. “Cultural and artistic education is a global good of humanity.” (UNESCO 2024)
