We seek a Culture that inspires!

At New Acropolis, we understand culture as the cultivation of the best and most beautiful expressions of human genius and intelligence, throughout different civilizations and eras. We recognize the need to preserve and develop, through an integrative approach, art, science, mysticism, and politics, as fundamental aspects that constitute a civilization. Through a wide variety of culture related activities, we build ways to help develop these four elements with the common denominator of Philosophy.

Our vision of Culture

Culture enlarges our understanding of life and the world and brings us closer to other people through a spirit of respect, solidarity and understanding. The ultimate end is to reach ethical, moral and permanent values which reinforce human dignity and the protection of the most basic rights to life and harmonious coexistence.

At New Acropolis, we are dedicated to promoting dialogue through every means available to us, based on the vision that dialogue is essential in our society, especially as we contend with the challenges of isolation and a pervasive sense of emptiness.

Culture is expansive and includes various disciplines: History, Anthropology, Physics, Arts, Sports, and many others… through these disciplines, we aim to explain the events and uncertainties of our times.

International Culture Programme

Culture is a transformation. Culture is a tool for the development and evolution of human beings, both individually and collectively. A cultured human being with a sincere eclectic attitude is prepared to live in fraternity and respect human dignity.

Publications

The universal nature of the IONA can be seen from the list of its publications in over 20 different languages: books, magazines and websites provide widespread access to the writings of outstanding thinkers of today and all times. The member organizations of different countries adapt their editorial choices to the interests of their local readership. One noteworthy project has been the translation of universal works into local languages, such as a compilation of the writings of the Stoic philosophers published by New Acropolis Croatia in Zagreb, or the translation into Chinese of the Hindu classic “Bhagavad Gita” by members of New Acropolis.

The presence of New Acropolis at many book fairs around the world demonstrates the importance we give to this educational task.

The nightsky with its mysteries is calling us to follow the shiny stars. In the darkness of the night, a spark ignites and unites us around the same fire, the same centre, the same purpose.

PhiloPhoto Photography Contest

PhiloPhoto is a unique contest born from the union of two disciplines: Philosophy and Photography.

This union creates a dynamic dialogue – a space where image and concept meet, not as mere reflections of each other but as complementary forces in creative tension.

In this interplay, the concept doesn’t describe the image, nor does the image illustrate the concept. Instead, they coexist in a relationship of contrast and harmony, revealing profound connections between immediacy and contemplation.

Photography captures the instant—a global, instantaneous perception. Philosophy, in contrast, unfolds over time, inviting reflection and analysis. Together, they create works that are familiar yet enigmatic, understood but not fully resolved—like water mingling with oil, forming a beautiful, ever-shifting paradox.

PhiloPhoto challenges photographers to create images that provoke questions and spark an inner journey for the viewer. This is not just about creating art—it’s about exploring the balance between personal expression and universal meaning.
