When problems are urgent, solutions have to be rapid. In addition to sustained, everyday social action, there are immediate and basic needs: from one moment to the next, without any announcement, without warning, the earth trembles, becomes flooded with water or vomits fire from its insides. When this happens - today, right now, immediately - people have to be rescued, treated, cleaned, fed, housed, sheltered, and their towns and villages rebuilt... And above all, they need to hear someone say: "you're not alone".

When disaster, poverty or misfortune strike, we need a hand to feed us and a roof to cover us. But also a gesture, a look, a word, which makes us remember our dignity as human beings, beyond the circumstances which are pressing upon us at that moment.

With this idea in mind, teams trained in emergency interventions have been formed, working in coordination with governmental and non-governmental organizations.
