New Acropolis came into being to give a new opportunity to philosophy to come to life again; philosophy in the sense of the eternal quest for knowledge, a quest for the root causes of things, a search for answers to those questions which we human beings are constantly asking ourselves.

To promote an ideal of universal fraternity, based on respect for human dignity, beyond racial, sexual, cultural, religious, social and other differences.
To encourage love for wisdom, which, through the comparative study of philosophies, religions, sciences and arts, promotes the knowledge of the universe, nature and the human being.
To develop the best of our human potential, by promoting our full realization as individuals and our integration in nature and society.

“New Acropolis is a Philosophical Movement and, as such, it has the right and the duty to study and know about all the natural and human expressions, select them and extract Wisdom from all of them ". (Prof. Jorge Ángel Livraga Rizzi).
WHY ACROPOLIS?
New Acropolis is an internacional organization of philosophical, cultural and social nature. It was founded in 1957 in Buenos Aires (Argentina) by Professor Jorge Ángel Livraga Rizzi (1930-1991), historian and philosopher.

Professor Livraga, of Italian nationality, was born in Buenos Aires in 1930. He studied Medicine, History of Art and Philosophy in the University of the above mentioned city. He died in Madrid in 1991.
As he defined it in the 50´s, his project consisted of creating a School of Philosophy " in the classic way ", where the education is given on the different spiritual and philosophical traditions of the humanity, recovering this way the classic ideal of philosophy as way to live through a more human and complete existence.
