New Acropolis came into being to give a new opportunity to philosophy to come to life again; philosophy in the sense of the eternal quest for knowledge, a quest for the root causes of things, a search for answers to those questions which we human beings are constantly asking ourselves.
Delia Steinberg

Principles

To promote an ideal of universal fraternity, based on respect for human dignity, beyond racial, sexual, cultural, religious, social and other differences.

To encourage love for wisdom, which, through the comparative study of philosophies, religions, sciences and arts, promotes the knowledge of the universe, nature and the human being.

To develop the best of our human potential, by promoting our full realization as individuals and our integration in nature and society.

Are you linked to any religious or mystical organization?

No. Our founding charter establishes respect for all religious creeds and institutionalized religions.

We are convinced that ignorance and fanatism only generate violence and hatred “in the name of God”. That is why we invite to a careful comparative study that allows creating bridges instead of walls among human beings, union instead of separation. We believe in God and respect all forms of religious ideas of our own members; this is why New Acropolis is present in variety of countries with different religious traditions such as Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc.

Is New Acropolis a leftists or a rightist organization?

The study of historical cycles and philosophical principles for justice in society are part of our study program. Just as with religion, we believe that fanatic positions only generate violence and separation. Study and profound reflection, on the contrary, promote tolerance and understating among citizen of a society. Our modern societies lack citizens eager to work together for common good beyond any political differences.

However we denounce and reject the dishonest use of internet mass media to manipulate our image. Our response to these attacks has always been our work in favor of education and freedom of thought in more than fifty countries and keeping our doors open to those who want to know who we are.
